The Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Technology and Advanced Materials (IFAM) in Bremen undertakes research and development work in the following areas:

• Shaping and Functional Materials

• Adhesive Bonding Technology and Surfaces

The Institute employs about 530 people, of this more as 91 percent in the scientific technical area. All research and development work is carried out in a building with nearly 8,000 m² office and lab space.

With its core competencies "Shaping and Functional Materials" and "Industrial Bonding", the Institute counts among Europe's biggest neutral and independent research facilities. It is one of 60 members of the non-profit Fraunhofer Society.
