Workshop Sinter-Based Additive Manufacturing 2022
Sinter-based Additive Manufacturing methods like Metal Binder Jetting or Lithography-based Metal AM are currently the most promising route towards modern industrial series production.
These methods all have in common that they require no tools or moulds and the resulting components have mechanical properties similar to those of conventionally manufactured PM parts, because they too underwent a final heat treatment (“debinding and sintering”) process step.
Fraunhofer IFAM's Sinter-based AM workshop series has been a great success so far and is emerging as one of the prime industry meetings on metal binder jetting and further sinter-based AM processes. Our international speakers from industry and R&D will provide insight into the latest advancements and industrial implementation of the respective technologies. The workshop program will be supplemented by an expert’s panel discussion and a Component Award competition.
The main topics addressed in this workshop will be
- Process Development and Upscaling of Metal Binder Jetting
- New SBAM technologies: Gelcasting, Moldjet and Lithography-based Metal AM
- Material Development in Sinter-based AM
- Enabling technologies like simulation and powder management as well as furnace technology
Use this opportunity to discuss these technologies with the experts, to network with colleagues and to inform yourself about the latest trends.
For newcomers, we offer a half-day extra tutorial on the fundamentals of sinter-based AM, preceding the workshop.
Please note: This event is currently planned as a conference with regular on-site attendance.
Due to the government’s Covid-19 restrictions, live attendance may at any time be prohibited or the number of on-site participants may be restricted to a maximum number defined by the applicable distance rules.
Should a government restriction come into force shortly before or at the time of the event, Fraunhofer IFAM reserves the right to postpone the event or to hold it with a smaller number of participants.
