Profile of Fraunhofer IFAM Dresden

The Dresden Branch Lab of the Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Technology and Applied Materials IFAM Bremen is involved in the development of new sintering and composite materials as well as innovative powder metallurgical technologies. We offer services ranging from material testing as an accredited lab up to the development and manufacturing of prototype-like systems and technological demonstrators. Particular experience is available in the fields of

For research activities, the Fraunhofer IFAM Dresden is equipped with about 2470 square meters of laboratories, technical euipment and offices of the highest technical standard and modern equipment.

The Fraunhofer IFAM Dresden is embedded in the Dresden Center of Fraunhofer Institutes (ICD) which, in turn, involves other institutes whose research activities are also focused on materials and technology:

the Fraunhofer Institute for Ceramic Technologies and Systems (IKTS),

the Fraunhofer Institute for Material and Beam Technology (IWS) and

the Fraunhofer Institute for Organic Electronics, Electron Beam and Plasma Technology (FEP).

Furthermore, the Fraunhofer IFAM Dresden is a member of the Materials Research Network Dresden (MFD).
