The Offshore Drone Campus Cuxhaven (ODCC) is a UAS development and testing environment for offshore operations located directly on the coast. It is operated by Fraunhofer IFAM. The research infrastructure includes take-off and landing sites as well as a small runway for various aircraft. Test structures for maintenance, inspection, and repair missions are available. In addition, the ODCC has its own research vessel to interact with watercraft. Large flight areas are located directly adjacent to the office and workshop facilities. Flight test campaigns are conducted in cooperation with industry, science, and research. A control center provides a real-time situation picture of air and sea traffic. Operations are coordinated with manned aviation, maritime traffic, and nature conservation. The ODCC is part of the “AAM NW” initiative to develop joint future airspace structures in northwestern Germany.
