Workforce Qualification and Technology Transfer

From Research to Safe Application

For new manufacturing technologies and materials to be successfully applied on a broad scale across industries, the very people using these new technologies and materials need to be qualified to do so.

Businesses targeting the professional use of adhesives and fiber-reinforced plastics (FRP) on an industrial level have to assure appropriate training of their staff.

Training courses at Fraunhofer IFAM imply a technology transfer in which important state-of-the-art scientific findings and methods find their way into the - secure - industrial application.

With their know-how and technical expertise, scientists from the Adhesive Bonding Technology and Surfaces Division of Fraunhofer IFAM guarantee a continuous advancement and the professional conduct of an application-oriented and quality-assured (certified) training program.

Training Courses Tailored to Industrial Needs

Fraunhofer IFAM's internationally recognized, cross-industry portfolio of training courses primarily adresses businesses which are utilizing adhesive bonding technology or fiber reinforced plastics.

It is covering a broad range of industries, ranging from automotive, railway, aerospace, machining, energy and environment to producers of adhesives or FRPs, packaging, textile, electrical engineering, micro systems as well as medical technology.

Participant Groups Targeted

  • production staff (specialist technical employees)
  • supervisory personnel
  • technical decision-makers (design, production, quality assurance, work preparation)

Fraunhofer Academy

With its early-on focus on training courses and a corresponding portfolio of training opportunities, Fraunhofer IFAM has played a pioneering role within Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, and in 2006 was a founding member of Fraunhofer Academy.

Fraunhofer Academy is an institution of Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft to provide external training. It bundles training courses from within Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft under one roof, offering a unique technology transfer of Fraunhofer research findings to industrial enterprises.

The Academy adresses technical as well as managerial staff with a set of excellent degree programs, certificate courses, and seminars based on research activities of Fraunhofer institutes. In so doing, it cooperates with selected reknowned partner universities and technical colleges.
