The “Smart Systems” department develops components and systems that record environmental data using integrated sensors. This data is saved in customized storage solutions and processed and interpreted with the help of specialized software. Based on the interpretation results, suitable actuators can respond appropriately to the environmental input, and possible approaches for component optimization can be derived.
In the development of these “smart systems”, simulation tools and additive manufacturing processes are used to achieve miniaturization as well as an individualization of the components and a high functionality density. The developed components and systems are tested in “Hardware in the Loop” (HiL) test fields in order to facilitate energetically optimized behavior. To this end, customer-specific software tools are developed for the storage, processing, and interpretation of measurement data in order to verify the components under specific environmental conditions.
